Barnard Hydro-turbine Solar Innovators is the official Canadian and United States sale representative for the Kouris Centri-Turbine (KCT). This unique small scale hydro turbine is flexible, modular and scalable. For a prepared site it takes 12 hours to assemble a KCT, not including optional concrete work. KCT can be transported on the back of a truck and lifted into place easily. This enables access to hard-to-reach sites. These turbines are especially designed for low head dam applications over traditional Kaplan and Francis type turbines.

KCT is extremely clean:
- Zero greenhouse gas emissions
- Zero interference with water flow
- Zero interference with water life (FISH FRIENDLY)
- Unobtrusive design blends into the landscape
- Small footprint means no major works on site
- 100% recyclable materials
- Zero footprint after complete removal
- Water aeration increase oxygen level in water
KCT is cost effective:
- Full vortex power from circular steel or plastic tank (not from a semi circular spiral) with in field turbine results of up to 85% efficiency
- Extremely low maintenance
- Minimum civil works required for installation (concrete pad, installation of inlet and outlet pipes)
- Minimum construction time due to design of vortex tank (we do not need to form and pour a complex & expensive concrete reinforced spiral basin, intake and outlet structure)
- The KCT can be relocated to another location if required for emergency power
- Expert installation of turbine is not required
